Length of Games

Varsity games:    40 minute halves
JV and others:     35 minutes halves

*Check sunset time in the newspaper or here

*If the field does not have lights, plan to stop the game when daylight is not sufficient

*Sunset time +10 minutes = recommended stopping time (after is too dark)

*Divide estimated remaining daylight into equal halves, advise coaches if the halves are to be shortened

*Stop the game sooner if, in your opinion, it would be unsafe to continue

(Varsity games only)

Channel, Marmonte, Pacific View Leagues No overtime Score stands if tied
Tri Valley Leagues (Frontier, Condor, Tri Valley) Varsity League games only
 If  score is tied after regular time, 2 extra five minute overtime periods if still tied score stands
